Reinventing Yourself

Something else you will have to do on a fairly regular basis. Today I spent the morning reviewing my sites. Balancing my check book and determining where my budget is best spent. I have decided to make some minor adjustments to how I am presenting myself.

For example I am resetting the link to my NetTrav Site. I am also reviewing a couple of my other affiliates to be sure they are the right fit for who and what I am going forward. You always want to be thinking about this. How you present yourself is what people are really looking at. They want to know about you even more than they want to know about your “products”.

I also continue to find some really decently sites to advertise on. The one I am having the best results with is Link Referral: http://www.linkreferral.com/adwel.pl?oldrefid=247014. I actually created links to all my sites seperately too. I am averaging 20+ views per day per site. Not bad for free. This site does require some time though; about an hour per link, for you to review other sites in order to improve your standing. But it is worth it.

As always I will keep adding updates as I go.

A Little Blue Today.

This will happen to everyone. There are going to be days when you feel like nothing is going right. I feel that way today. The ONLY thing you can do when you feel this way is to keep right on moving forward. Just do one thing; only one, and even if you can’t see results immediately know that it keeps your momentum.

For me I went to my newest referral site and spent some time improving my ranking:
http://www.linkreferral.com/adwel.p1?oldrefid=247014

I know I have to find a way to make this a success and I know by just doing this one thing it will move me one step closer.

To knowing this one step will make a difference.

Finding Something New Every Day

Each and everyday after I have completed my morning calls I take a few minutes to research other possible free advertising sites, social networking sites or courses I might learn something from. I am going to start including some of the interesting ones I find.

Yesterday I stumbles across two:
http://www.netbugadvertising.com/ccruniverse
This does not launch till 7-4-09 but will allow for free advertising and might generate some cash through the affiliate program.

http://www.me2everyone.com/491796
This will be a new social networking site that also issues stock to new members right now during prelaunch. If their growth plans come true it will mean some cash in our pockets too, as well as, exposure on a new social networking site.

Not much else today. Still struggling with picking up that phone. Sponsor Daddy did some great training last night and I am going to take advantage of it and try to call some other network marketers.

To a fantastically fun filled and productive day!

Daily Method of Operation (DMO)

One of the biggest hurdles most home based business owners have to get over is working from home. It can be lonely, distracting and frustrating.

The best way to overcome this is to create and follow a Daily Method of Operation (DMO).

I will walk you through my own as an example but each person needs to set up their own DMO to be able to successfully stick to it.

I usually begin my day between 7:00am-8:00am.

*I feed and water my animals, make the coffee and turn on the computer. (During the school year I would also get the kids off to school; right now they get to sleep in during summer vacation, but having them home creates other issues which will be discussed later.)

*I first open my simple-ology daily praxes. I brain dump what I want or need to get done and review anything that didn't get done from the day before. I then reset my daily goals and begin accomplishing them. (Simple-ology has made my ability to focus, achieve and enjoy my tasks so much easier at this point I wouldn't want to live without it.)

*I review my emails and respond to anything that is urgent.

*I add any new networkers or friends to my Sponsor Daddy contact manager.

*I blog.

*I meditate.

*I write any articles or reviews that are due.

*I check all my social networking sites and update information as needed.

*I make all my morning calls to HOT prospects.

*I post my ads to my free advertising sites.

*I continue my education with regards to personal development using my simple-ology courses and other network marketing, social networking or spirituality tools and sites I have found. (It's not even noon yet and I feel great because I am accomplishing a lot!!!)

*I break for lunch and some type of exercise. (usually around 12:30)

*I continue to call HOT prospects. *I look for another free way to market myself. (I try to add at least 2-3 new ways per week)

*I do another check of email and social networking sites and respond as needed.

*I break for family time and dinner. (around 3-5pm)

*I take my kids to any sports or friend activities they have scheduled. (5-9)

*I get back on the computer around 9pm and attend any webinars *I make any west coast evening HOT prospect calls I have.

*I do my final check of email and social networking sites and respond as needed.

That is a normal day. The beauty of what I do though is that I can change or add tasks as needed. For example on Monday this week, during the afternoon, I went to pick my son up from a friends house and the boys were hot and bored so I took them to the beach. I knew I didn't have any urgent calls and because I stay focused I could easily make up any marketing tasks on Tuesday so why not. I often enjoy morning coffee with my neighbor or take time to hang out with my kids. This is exactly why I wanted a home based business opportunity.

With regards to having the kids home during the summer; it is even more imperative that you find a quiet place to work. If your children are younger and you can't afford to have someone come into your home to care for them for a few hours, you may need to change your work hours to later or earlier hours when they are sleeping. Again, you have the freedom to do this. But be sure to set up specific time to work otherwise you will never find the time.

I sat down with my kids the day they got out of school and explained to them that when I am in my office I am NOT home so don't interupt. Call my cell phone, just like you would if I worked outside of the home, and I will talk to you. I have been doing this for awhile so they get it; but it did take a few "Leave me alone" moments to make them understand. Overall the most important thing is to set the DMO and make it a habit to follow it. That doesn't mean there are OMG moments that through my whole day into a whirlwind; there are, but it makes it so much easier to get back on track and continue to grow my business. To another GREAT day for us all!

For years I have searched for that perfect place in life. Never truly finding it. Always feeling like I was striving the please everyone else but never really pleasing myself. Now, I am NOT about me me me… But I am looking for a life where I feel good about getting up every morning and facing the day knowing I will feel just as good when I lay my head down again.

I had a great career in business; but it never fulfilled me and I ended up missing a lot of time with my children when they were young. Luckily I realized this and changed things so that I am spending more time with them now. But the income has taken a drastic hit. So I still feel stressed everyday because of this. But for once in my life I feel like I have found the right path for me to be able to fulfill not only my financial goals but give me the time, freedom and availability to be there for all my family, friends and colleagues. I knew that whatever I found had to have me talking to people and "helping" them. Whether it was just moral support or teaching them how to do something. I love taking people under my wing and helping them to achieve far greater than they thought they could. Home Based Business and Network Markeing allow me to do this. My goal this week is to create the best presentation to share with people that will give them the opportunity to see how each and every one of us is unique and does have something everyone can learn. I use this blog as well as most of the popular social networking sites to build that presentation and reputation. Let me help you do the same. I may not know everything but if I don't know it I go out and find someone that does. Same as when I was an operations manager. It worked then and I know it will work now.
