Do You Want to Learn More About Me…. LIVE!….

My life is taking paths I never quite expected it too just a few short months ago; but the amazing thing is that the paths are so  much in line with what I have always wanted in life that I am blown away. When I left Netflix 3 years ago I wanted to start my own business so I sat down and thought about what it is that I love doing.

 No matter how many times I thought about it I always came back to one thing.  I love to talk to people and I love to mentor people. 

So how could I turn that into a paycheck?  Well I looked into some kind of training program or presentation format but I didn't think I was "experienced" enough that anyone would want to pay money to hear me speak.  So I designed my Phone Friend concept and for a couple years was able to create income but it never really took off.

Then over the course of the last three years; especially that last year I have been working towards creating income from network marketing and writing web content.  I love it and I have grown my income from these ventures into a sizable amount.  Not enough to retire yet though…   

So last week  my partner Tracy and I were approached by Isaac McLemore the Master Distributor of Tampogo and asked to develop a training program for Tampogo.  We were honored and excited to accept this opportunity.  For the last week we have been working diligently to create a program that will allow any networker to create success in their business.

A Time of Thanks…

Everyone and their Uncle probably have a post with this title today…

But obviously it is appropriate.  Tomorrow is Thanksgiving in the United States one of the very few NON-Hallmark Holidays.  I am so looking forward to just spending time with family and friends enjoying each others company.  Will there be chaos…  You bet… Will there be crying kids and even a few crying adults… You bet… Will there be dried out turkey and burnt rolls…   You bet… Will there be savage shoppers and no parking places…   You bet… Will I enjoy every minute of it…   You bet…   I am thankful for it all; family, friends and the opportunities I have been given this past year to grow both financially, professionally and personally… I love this season with all its hoopla.  And this year I am doing even more to create things to truly be thankful for… Won’t you help…  

A Special Message From TamPogo’s CEO

When I was a young child one of my first household tasks was to fetch the mail from the mailbox and deliver it to my Mom. Nearly every day, in the mail pile, there were one or two letters from Mission Groups whose purpose was to eradicate starvation throughout the world. One day I asked my Mom why she got so many letters like that and she told me that it was because so many people were dying because they needed to eat. I told her I wanted skip dinner that night and send the food to someone hungry. I remember her smiling and telling me to go ahead and enjoy dinner; that for every dollar she spends on food for the family she sends at least one to the hungry. It made me feel better.

As I grew up I forgot about this. The letters kept coming, my mother kept giving, I kept eating but I forgot about her engagement in the mission to end hunger. I grew up, moved away, started a family and whenever I visited back home, I noticed the letters were still coming.

Two years ago in March, at 93, my Mom woke up healthy one morning but died within that day. I called home a few days ago and asked my Dad about the letters. He said they still are coming. I didn’t need to ask why. I know that Dad is still sending out checks to feed the kids. As long as he breathes, he will keep my Mom’s memory alive in that mission. Mom’s family never starved, either those living under her roof or those scattered throughout the world.

My Mom saw a need and she DID SOMETHING. She didn’t ignore it and say the Church will help. She didn’t wait until I grew up and made a pile of money so I could help. She simply DID SOMETHING. And all those SOMETHINGS over the years led to something mighty. But her SOMETHINGS didn’t stop there. They inspired my Dad to DO SOMETHING. And her example, led me to DO SOMETHING now. And that something is my work at TamPogo which is supported by all you wonderful people.

Remember that phrase, “led me to do something.” You know, I never once heard my Mom talk about being a leader. She just DID IT. She DID SOMETHING and she “led.” On reality TV, in school, in groups, in business…..all I hear is people talking about leadership. The joke is on them. You don’t get to be a leader by talking about it. Talking makes you a fool. You get to be a leader by your actions; by doing a whole lot of SOMETHINGS.

TamPogo is relentless in its mission to feed kids though our partnership with Feed My Starving Children. We are relentless in our desire to help people level their own economic playing field. We are relentless in our desire to help them save money on products and services they purchase.

Being successful in this mission is more about commerce than it is about charity. The more we are able to divert other people’s shopping to TamPogo; the larger the impact we can make. In other words, share the message. This is a call to leadership. Don’t just talk or think about caring; rather, DO SOMETHING. Do not let the day end without making at least one phone call to someone and tell them about the power of TamPogo. No excuses. No laziness. No procrastination. DO SOMETHING. In fact, please DO TEN SOMETHINGS. Make ten calls. And never give up DOING SOMETHING. Procrastination Is My Middle Name…

Not really it's Marie…

But I am a notorious procrastinator.

I camouflage it with excuses like I am so tired, I need to go grocery shopping, I really need to check out the news on the internet, I need to take care of me so I need to take time to read…

Folks I AM the worst! I’m not going to tell you that I have completely overcome this issue. I haven’t… But I have become much better at realizing when I am doing it and changing my actions.

Did you notice the last word… ACTIONS…

I have a growing team but over half of them are not taking action. Why… I don’t exactly know. No business or employment for that matter, will ever give you results if you do not take action. You have to recruit, advertising, marketing or get to work on time if you want to receive a paycheck. We all know the statistics; 97% of us will fail.

Well the reason these 97% fail is because they do nothing. Period…

It’s like you were drowning and you didn’t even try to swim for safety. Of course you aren’t going to make it.

So how can you take action? Well here are a few out of the box ideas I try to generate leads and prospects.

-Carry business cards with you at all times and hand them to everyone you meet. All you have to say is, “Could you use a way to earn some extra income?”

-Attend craft shows and talk to people in the booths that are not busy. These are obviously people that want to work from home.

-Stop by locally owned specialty stores and give the owner your business information. Lots of businesses are not doing well in this economy and could use some options to earn income.

-Stop by locally owned diners and restaurants and order a cup of coffee and talk to the staff. Don’t forget to post your information if there is an area to do that.

Do these steps scare you or make you uncomfortable?

Well guess what; they make me uncomfortable too. And some days that fear stops me from taking action. But then I ask myself “How bad do I want this?” And the next day I am able to do better.

Very few people have the natural ability to promote and recruit but if you are like me it takes effort. Make the effort. Without it you will not succeed and then you will tell everyone how it was your companies fault, your sponsors fault, too expensive… Well face it folks if you fail it will be for none of those reasons it will be ONLY because you did not make the effort. Take responsibility for your results. NOW GO OUT AND TAKE ACTION…

Twilight: New Moon saga…

Today is the day…  The second movie in the Twilight series releases tonight at midnight.  Me being the cool mom that I am… lol and my neighbor (also a cool mom) have agreed to take our daughters to the midnight showing.  I know, I know it is a school night… I struggled with this for some time; but the fact of the matter is my daughter is an all A student who babysits 3 days a week, plays basketball and is in 4H.  She is a great kid and she deserves to do something great!  So tonight right after basketball practice we will be picking up our neighbor and her daughter and the 4 of us will be going to sit in line for a couple hours to enjoy the movie.  It looks really good.  I have read all the books (I try to at least somewhat know what my kids are reading).   The girls are beside themselves with excitement and I am sure it will earn me a few brownie points… So if I am a little tired tomorrow and don't get a post up you will understand why.  By the way I am team Jacob…

How Bad Do I Want It?

  I attended a team call on Friday evening and found out a couple of really interesting things.  First our Tampogo team was doing even better than I thought.  You know how you always wonder how others are doing…  Well, during the call we found out that one of the top teams was at 400 with a 50% ratio of people on autoship.   This really motivated me because our team is now at 92 with a 40% ratio of people on autoship.  Not bad for a group of people with little to no past experience in network marketing.  I am sharing this with everyone so that they see that Tracy and I are really doing everything we can to help our entire team have the same or better results.  It will require commitment, it will require effort, it will require a positive attitude but it can be done! So here’s what we need to do next: We need to be sure we are talking to everyone we meet about Tampogo.    We need to personally follow up with iReps that are not on autoship and confirm once and for all whether they are serious about building a business or if they are just Lookie Lou’s.  If they are serious they need to be on autoship. We need to plug into the calls, support and training that are offered.  YOU DO NOT HAVE TO DO THIS ALONE!!!

 

During the same call on Friday Isaac also asked the question, “You have to ask yourself how bad do you want this?”  I have thought about it a lot since that call.  At first I was scared and wanted to go back to my old ways, saying “There is no way I can do this”.  Then I realized wait a minute you are already doing it.  Just don’t stop.  So that is how bad I want it, I want is so bad that I refuse the stop; no matter what; even if I am not meeting the highest growth, I will keep going because by continuous effort I will grow this into my ultimate life.

 

 

So ask yourself,    HOW BAD DO YOU WANT IT? …

Showing, Sharing, Striving to Entertain…

I have been so incredibly busy but having so damn much fun and things have only really begun to kick into overdrive.

 

The next 4 weeks are really going to be the test…

 

In the last 2 months I have grown a team to 90+ people, I am regularly asked to step out on our team calls to share my experiences, I am creating life long friendships and relationships that are not just creating my business success but literally changing me as a person.

 

I am going to be getting a lot less sleep for the next month because I am 1000% committed to taking this opportunity and turning it into everything it can be but I am not willing to do that by ignoring my real passion which is my family and friends so I am going to carve out time for both. 

 

This weekend is going to be so much fun.  We have a great friend coming to visit us and we are having a party to celebrate my husband’s 40th birthday by having 25-30 people over for a bonfire.  I love entertaining so I can’t wait.

 

I have spent the last few weeks deep cleaning my house so I feel so organized and together (I know it won’t last but it sure feels great) so I don’t mind having people coming into my home and bonus; I am ready for the Holidays.

 

I will continue to show, share and strive to entertain you with all my coming and goings so come back often…

My Morning Motivator Moment…

Yesterday Isaac McLemore asked me to share some things on our morning motivator call today and it went so well I wanted to share it with everyone; so here it is…

Most of you have heard me share my mantra before so you know that I ALWAYS say this; so I am going to say it again: “If we all help each other we will all succeed”

I believe this to the bottom of my soul! Because I like to share with my team and anyone else that will listen; all the things that have helped me to grow my success, a couple days ago I invited Michael Bernoff an experienced communicator and mentor in the art of persuasion to our team call to help us take our business to the next level. Michael is a no nonsense mentor who has a direct and to the point style who I met several months ago when he helped me to overcome my phone fear.

I know none of you believe that I have phone fear; but I do. I can get on the phone and talk all day when I am mentoring; but to get on the phone and recruit I have classic panics attacks.

Three months ago in just 5 minutes Michael helped me to NOT overcome my fear; I still have it, but to work through it. So I am going to share with you today a couple highlights from our time with Michael.

Society as a whole has always driven us to learn more; we all know the saying, “knowledge is power” but logic and knowledge are NOT what motivates people. As an example, we all KNOW we should be eating better, working out and getting enough sleep but how many of us really do it consistently? So what does motivate us:

EMOTION. Our decisions are made based on our emotions. Why else would people buy expensive cars when the less expensive ones get us from point A to point B or own more than one pair of shoes we only have two feet…

And there are only 2 emotions that drive people to take action:

Inspiration: Knowing that you can and caring enough that you want to

Desperation: knowing that you have to or you will experience pain or lack

3% of all people are motivated by inspiration 97% of all people are motivated by desperation

So we need to change how we are approaching people and find their desperation factor and help people find a solution. To do that We have to change our focus from OUR problems (I can’t find people to talk to, My back office is too hard to understand, I don’t have time to…) to focusing on finding the solutions for ourselves and others. How do we do that?

We have to make continuous PROGRESS by making just a little progress each and every day. So often we set huge goals but don’t accomplish them (think New Year’s resolutions); we go into maximum action but usually completely give up in a short period of time. So to move forward we need to make some progress everyday; for example in my case, rather than trying to make 20 calls in one day I started by making my goal to make 1 call a day. As I successfully made that one call everyday I was self motivated (because I had successfully made one call) to make a second call, then a third and so on and so on and so on.

So by not overwhelming myself I ended up ultimately overachieving and making way more than 20 calls on the days I set aside to make calls. So to recap; the two main reasons we are not succeeding in our business is because we concentrate on our problems; not the solutions and we stop making progress.

Now how do we change this? Remember what 97% of people are motivated by? Desperation; problems: so let’s get people sharing that information with us by asking them one question:

What is not perfect in your life yet? By asking them YET? We leave the door open to possibilities. And it opens up the flood gate allowing them to share their problems with us.

Now we need to offer solutions? So if I could show you a way to… make more money, have more fun, create more time for your family, save for your retirement etc… is there any reason why you wouldn’t want to learn more?

Now I want you to pay really close attention to that last question. So if I could show you a way to…(whatever their personal problems are) … is there any reason why you wouldn’t want to learn more? Most people are going to answer NO to that question right?

But aren’t they really saying YES?

You just learned a couple techniques to get people to open up to you and share their problems so that you can find solutions AND how to turn EVERY NO into a YES.

Now you are able to show people solutions and share your opportunity with them. And they are open and listening because you are going to solve their problem.

The final point I want to make is this. YOU MUST ASK FOR WHAT YOU WANT. Get to the point; be direct. I am great at sharing and helping people but I ALWAYS FORGET TO ASK FOR WHAT I WANT.

Whether it’s getting on a call, looking at the website, joining my company. Two nights ago I was reminded of this; asking for what I want was the MOST important missing piece in my puzzle. Don’t you respect someone more when they get to the point rather than rambling on and on about things??

ASK FOR WHAT YOU WANT.

By being on this call in the morning and other calls throughout the week you are all already committed to growing yourself so now you need to go out an apply it: Go out; get people to share their problems (desperation) with you “what is not perfect in your life yet? Give them the solution, “so if I could show you a way to…” Turn their NO’s into YES’s, “is there any reason why you wouldn’t want to learn more?” Ask for what you want; and create your ultimate life.

The rest is up to you!!!

These are the Things We Share with Our Team!

As I continue to grow my TamPogo iRep Team I continue to be committed to sharing every success and miss along the way. Remember you know the line… "If we help each other we will all succeed!" So each and everyday on our team call I try to bring information that will help us grow and prosper in our businesses. Last night was no exception. I was able to bring Michael Bernoff to our call to share some insightful information to stimulate your mind and absorb information to accelerate rapid personal change. I was fortunate enough to be introduced to Michael Bernoff several months ago when I attended a call; during this call he asked people to step out and tell him what was not working in their business. Most of you know I am not afraid to ask so I stepped out and told him about my severe phone phobia. Well… Michale kicked me in the butt and made it impossible for me to justify having a phone phobia if I was serious about growing my business. A week later I found Tampogo and like I said last night the rest is history. Michael has been studying communication styles and techniques for over a decade and is considered an expert in the field of effective communication and the art of persuasion. But I will warn you he is direct, to the point and some may even say arogant but if you don't fight him and are honest with yourself he will give you a few great pointers to help you create the action and success we are all striving for. Take some time and enjoy the call. Michael does such a good job that the time flies and I guarantee you will pick up information you can use not matter what business you are in. A.C.T.I.O.N. Action, Action, Action…

Folks what an amazing week we had with T3 Training…

We learned about action, goals and objective, personality types, memory joggers and compensation.

We had amazing attendance for our first week of training…

And everyone came back each day so I know we were giving you the tools you need to succeed.

This is what I live for…  I have spent my entire career training, coaching and mentoring.  I thrive on helping others achieve their goals. 

I am sharing with you all my years of business experience in a way that is straightforward and to the point.  Folks if you are here to hear how easy it is to create success in network marketing you are in the wrong place.  It is not a get rich quick scheme.

It is a way to create accountability and activity that will grow your success no matter what you are doing.

But if you are here and ready to learn how to improve your skills to create real success; stay tuned because you will learn something and if you apply it you will grow your business; no matter what business it is.

So did you tell others about this call this week?  You really need too.  Again, use this as a tool in your arsenal.  Where else can you get this kind of support.  I had at least 5 people tell me last week how different this was from prior experiences in network marketing where sponsors were happy to take money but then never called or spoke to you again. 

Here is a tool to create duplication; if you aren’t using it you are working harder not smarter.  Be a smarter networker and get people on this call.  Let us train your team for you…

We are going to do a review this week since we know that there are a lot more people joining us for the first time. 

I woke up today and I was tired.  I went to bed early; in fact I went to bed too early so I was awake at 1:00 this morning.  I tossed and turned for 2 hours and finally fell back to sleep but then the alarm went off at 5:00am.  I obviously was in the middle of a sleep cycle because boy oh boy my eyes did not want to stay open. 

Well I knew I had to get up;

One because I didn’t want my daughter to miss the bus again because I forgot to get her up.  Anyone on last weeks call knows that I was so into prepping for my day promoting Tampogo that I forgot to get my daughter up for school one day last week… oops…

Two because I know this business is going to succeed and in order for it to succeed I need to get up and take action.

 

So like I asked you dozens of times last week…

 

HOW BAD DO YOU WANT THIS….

Manage your time by setting your goals and objectives?    Give me a T

What does it spell…    A.C.T.I.O.N.  Action Action Action

If you want to build a large network of people you cannot just sit around expecting it to magically appear.

You    have to take…  Action…

NO MORE EXCUSES:

        I don’t have enough time

        No one is interested

        Don’t know enough people

        I’m Not a salesperson

        I Don’t have enough money to market my business

YOU HAVE TO TAKE ACTION.  You can overcome all of these if you take action.

YOU HAVE TO TAKE MASSIVE ACTION. 

Remember how we talked about how so many people burn themselves out quickly by taking massive action (think of that New Year’s Resolution where you were going to lose 20 lbs.  You probably did great and took lots of action the first week but by week two you were done and probably never thought about it again till next New Year’s Eve when you said, “Now this year I Am going to lose 20 lbs…)  We’ve all done it … 

Of course there are 3% of people that are able to take massive action and better yet sustain massive action.  But the other 97% of us start out great and them sputter and quit..

We have the best intentions but don’t stick with it.  Here is a way to overcome that problem.

Make progress every day.  Do one thing, make one call, send one email, read one paragraph, attend one call.  Make that your goal.

Then accomplish that one goal each and every day for 4 days straight.  Just that one thing for four days. 

Now on the fourth day increase that goal slightly; make 3 calls, send 3 emails, read 3 paragraphs…  Again accomplish that one goal each and every day for 4 days.

Next increase that goal again, just a little; make 5 calls, send 5 emails…

You know the drill by now; do this for 4 more days.  Then increase it again…

If you follow this plan EXACTLY… I guarantee by the time you get through these last 4 days you are going to begin setting higher and higher goals each and every time because you have learned you can successfully set a goal and achieve it.  And nothing works better to create success than practice.  You’ve all heard the saying practice makes perfect

This is also a perfect scenario to plan and achieve your goals on the Tampogo STEP team.  Remember how your goal in the first week is to get 4 people on autoship who can get 4 people on autoship.  By setting small achievable goals you will begin to reap the rewards without feeling overwhelmed. 

You aren’t worried about what is required in week 12 you are just setting attainable goals in every increasing numbers.  This will get you to week 12 and by then you are ready to handle that…

So now you have a plan of attack regarding taking massive action so how do you create real action in your life.

A = ATTITUDE

You have to have a "will do" attitude. Take the work CAN’T and CAN out of your vocabulary.  Make it WILL DO..  We all CAN do anything but it’s only when we say we WILL do it that we take action.

Anyone who spends anytime talking to me knows that is my method of operation.  I will do this… no matter what hurdles are placed before me I am going to find a way to jump over, go around or knock them down if I have to.

So how can you learn to do that? 

You have to know how you are feeling.

Are you fearful, mad or bored. 

You want to get yourself a copy of “The Emotional Scale” created by Esther and Jerry Hicks.  I will be posting a copy out on my blog.

There are a total of 22 different emotions on that scale; what you want to do is figure out where you are on the scale then work on raising your emotions just few levels. 

For example if you are fearful or feel you aren’t worth it; then get angry about it.  This will raise your emotional level only 4-5 levels but think how that might affect your actions. 

You would go from doing nothing because you are scared to an “I’ll show you…” attitude which WILL make you take action because you are angry. 

Or maybe you are bored; by reviewing the scale you know that if you think about something that makes happy it will motivate you to being more enthusiastic thus prompting you to take….  What…  Action…

 

So you say how do I shift my emotions upward.

Simple  Think happy thoughts. 

I know it’s corny and it sounds harder than you might think it is so I created a couple things you can do to help you find your happy thoughts. 

First you want to make a physical list of all the great days in your life.  For me it was the birth of my children, Graduating Cum Laude from College, Moving back to Michigan…  You get the point.

Now keep that list handy. When you need the emotional push pick one of those days and spend the next 5 minutes remembering how you felt on that day.  When I remember holding my daughter or son for the very first time; no matter how horrible my day may be going I am automatically lifted up.

So if you haven’t done it already it is now time to create your list of happy thoughts.  That’s your HOMEWORK…

Now the second tool I use to improve my attitude is concentrating on all the abundance around me. 

So let’s do a little exercise…

Look around you right now…   What do you see….  Maybe it isn’t what you want your ultimate life to be but

Are you protected from the weather? 

Do you have enough to eat? 

Heck if you can’t think of anything else think of this.  It’s my personal favorite…

Do you have enough air to breathe…  Like I said last week NO ONE on this line right now can answer no to that. 

That’s abundance.  When you take a minute to really look at what you have; trust me you will automatically realize how good you have it thus raising your emotional level.  

One last easy exercise.  SMILE, right now, smile.  Go look at yourself in the mirror smiling.  I know corny… but it works. 

So now we have ourselves on the road to a more positive outlook; what is the next component of action…

 

C = Clarity

Do you know who you are and what you really want to achieve?  Most of us think we do but have NEVER clarified it.

Well I have clarified exactly what I want from life.  I have it clearly defined in intimate detail including all aspects of my life and emotions. Financial how much do I will make, physical how do I look, relationships with my family and friends, community what I am giving back…

I look at those passions several times a day.  I post them where I can see them. 

In order to clarify your passions and vision try these simple steps:

Write down at least 10 items that will give you joy and fulfillment.  Be sure each item in written in the form of a verb relating to being, doing or having…

BEING A SUPPORTIVE, HELPFUL AND LOVING MOM WHO HELPS MY KIDS AND OTHER KIDS LIVE THEIR LIVES TO THE FULLEST.

 

HAVING FUN, LAUGHING A LOT AND ENJOYING FAMILY AND FRIENDS.

 

BEING A MULTIMILLIONAIRE WITH TOTAL FINANCIAL SECURITY NOW AND INTO THE FUTURE

 

LIVING IN MY DREAM HOME ON ACREAGE IN PEACE AN HARMONY

 

 

They next step is to compare each item on your list to each other using the following steps.

Starting with the first item you wrote down; If you had to choose between having that first item or the second item which one would you choose. 

 

Remember as you are comparing each item to the next you want to pick the one that you could not live without if you had to choose.

 

 

Then compare the item that is most important to you to the third item on the list in the same way.  Again, which item would you choose.  You continue comparing the item you choose to the next item on the list till you have gone through the whole list.  This will give you your top passion. 

 

If you are comparing two items and the second item becomes the most important then just continue down the list comparing that second  item to the next item on the list

Example

My first item was   

BEING A MULTIMILLIONAIRE WITH TOTAL FINANCIAL SECURITY NOW AND INTO THE FUTURE

And I compare it to my third item:

HAVING FUN, LAUGHING A LOT AND ENJOYING FAMILY AND FRIENDS.

 

HAVING FUN, LAUGHING A LOT AND ENJOYING FAMILY AND FRIENDS.

Is more important so I just go to the next item and compare it against…

 

Again, Once you have gone through the whole list one passion will come out as your top passion.

 

Now you go back to the top of the list and begin the process again; this will give you your second most important passion and so on till you have your top 5 passions.

 

 

You will review this list regularly and it will change so if some of the things you thought were high priorities  actually don’t make your top 5 the first time; don’t worry as you accomplish more and more of your passions other ones will replace them. 

 

For example I want to learn how to play the piano but it certainly isn’t as important to me right now as the 5 items I choose.

 

Now you have a strong, well thought out list of passions that you base all your decisions on.  So for example in my case if I have to make a choice between reading or playing a game with my son.  I am going to choose to play the game.  Or instead of going out to dinner I take that money and put it into my business.

 

By staying focused on your passions you will be ready to take on the

 

 Third component of Action…

 

T = TIME 

We are now driving your success through positive emotion and a clear vision of who and what we are. 

Now we have to begin using our time effectively to create our success. 

We MUST treat our business like we would any job we’ve had in the past.  You have to put the time in to create the success. 

It can be as few as 2-3 hours a day but if you aren’t working at least 10+ hours a week, every week it will be so much more difficult to create real, sustainable success. 

Based on your clear and concise vision of who you are and what you want you now need to create your goals and objectives. You have to know how to prioritize these and incorporate them into your daily activities.

Again I won’t talk much about goals and objective because Isaac is going to light a fire under you tomorrow but let me just mention a few things.

 

-Be  SPECIFIC

-Think about what you will give to reach these goal.  Time, money, effort…

            -What is the exact date you want to achieve this goal by

            -What actions will you consistently take to achieve the goals

 

Remember once you have your goals you are going to want to write them down and post them everywhere…. 

 

Moving on to the next step in creating Action…

 

I = INITIATIVE  

You can’t sit around and make excuses and hope to create action which in turn will create your success.  You have to have a plan.  You want to know exactly what you are going to do today.  Then go out and do it. 

I actually struggled with this one for a while.  I thought I knew it all.  I had my college degree, I had 20+ years of experience in business, I didn’t need to learn more or have a plan of action.  I was wrong…

It wasn’t until I began a journey of self development; that I began to create my success.  Heck even Jack Canfield told us how he still works with his mentors to continue to grow.

Once I finally admitted I needed to be a student as well as a teacher I found an amazing free tool called simpleology that helped me create my DAILY METHOD OF OPERATION  (DMO).

A Daily method of operation is a step by step layout of your day.

To create real time management you need to realize a few things. 

First,  the shortest distance between two points is a straight line.  (remember we all learned that in high school geometry and you thought you would never use it in real life…) but in order to control time you have to understand that you want to create the shortest distance (amount of effort required) to get from pt. A to pt. B

Second is create a clear vision of what you want to accomplish with your time.  You already created your ultimate life now break it down to what you want to accomplish today.  Make 25 calls, write 2 articles, Send out 100 emails…

Third focus all your energy and attention on what you want to accomplish.

As Mark Joyner of simpleology always says, “see your target, keep it in your sites, hit it till you hit it”.

Now create a detailed list of exactly what you are going to do today to hit your target.   This will give you the shortest path and focus all your energy and attention on that target.

Mine looks something like this:  My target it to add one new iRep on autoship to my Tampogo business today.

Feed animals

Make coffee,

Read and respond to emails

Blog

Review social networking sites

Attend motivator call

Attend T3 training

Call or contact 25 prospects

Advertise on all free classified sites

You get the drift…

I review this first thing EVERY MORNING and adjust as necessary.

Things will still come up that throw you off course.  For example I seem to have a very sick puppy this morning.  He has been leaving me little presents all over.   But by having my DMO to refer back to I am able to quickly get back on track.

 

By creating this and knowing what I want to accomplish I stay focused and have tripled my ability to accomplish my goals in half the time.  Thus I am getting way more done…

 

 

What’s next…

 

O = ORGANIZE

I am the queen of time management and organization.  My daily method of operation, DMO is critical to this but here are some other things to think about.

Do you have the correct phone carrier to allow you enough minutes to make all the calls you need to? 

Do you have a separate email account for your business and are you familiar with how to create contacts within your email account to make it easier to send out messages.

Did you create a signature for your email that will go on ALL your coorespondence.

Remember you should also be keeping all your monthly bills like phone and internet as well as business expenses like paper, ink, office supplies and anything else you use for your business handy and work with you tax advisor in order to take advantage of all the tax write offs you may be eligible for at the end of the year.

I have an accordion folder with tabs for each type of expense and I store all my receipts here.

But the most important aspect of organization is tracking your progress.

When Progress is Measured, Progress Improves.

When Progress is Measured and Reported, Progress Improves Dramatically!

 

I use a simple sheet of notebook paper and along the left margin I write things like:

Exercise

Personal Growth

3 Way Calls

New prospect Calls

Follow up calls

Emails

Co. Events

Joined

Time on business

 

Along the top of the page I put the date then I make a check mark or add a short note under each category each day. 

 

So I could tell you exactly how many calls or emails I made last Monday.

(162 emails and 27 calls)

 

I do this consistently every day…

So a quick review, we know how to improve our attitude, clarify who we are and what we want, create our goals and objectives, put a daily plan into place to take steps to success and track everything we are doing…

Now the final step to taking action…

N = NAVIGATE

The path to success in network marketing can be rocky and filled with lots of detours and distractions.  If you keep a positive attitude and a clear vision; if you know what your goals are and create a day to day method to reach them and if you document and track what you are doing you will be paving that road to success making it easier to travel.

Many people say they want the time freedom and financial security that network marketing brings, but most aren't willing to do what is necessary to make those dreams come true. 

ACTION…

Here is the major thing you MUST learn.  You have to take action each and every day.  There are no magic wands or magic keys I can give you other than You must take action everyday…

Now action for each of us should include all the tools in our business arsenal such as direct contact, social networking, blogging, videos and whatever else you find is helpful.

But the MOST important of all of these and the one you MUST do each and every day is direct contact with prospects.

Social networking, referral network, attraction networking is all great and very useful tool but it will take you 6-12 months to begin to build enough of a presence on line to begin generating any real leads.

Where as direct contact.  TALKING TO PEOPLE. Is the only way to begin to grow you business immediately.  If you do not talk to people you will not grow your business. 

 

Remember way back at the beginning I gave you a phrase to keep in front of you each and every day?

Well let me ask you again:

 

HOW BAD DO I WANT THIS?  If you want it bad enough You will take action EVERY day the most important of which is to TALK TO PEOPLE.

Use the tools I presented and be committed to these steps to create the actions needed to build your success. 

It won’t happen over night but it will happen very quickly if you do something every day; talk to people every day.
