I know that everyone can learn at least one thing from me; which leads me to believe we all can learn at least one thing from each other. That being said here's a brief synopsis about
The Smart Networker…
Born in the early sixties I was raised with 3 younger brothers in the suburbs of Detroit. We made the big move to the "country" in the mid-seventies. I grew up roaming the woods and fields with all my friends. Most people tell me I grew up in BeaverCleaver land and for the most part that is true.
I Graduated in 1981 and immediately started a small junior college. I got an Associates in Business Administration and went to work as an assistant manager at a Pizza Hut. It’s at this point that I realized in order to get ahead I would need my Bachelors degree; so I headed off to Western Michigan University and graduated cum laude 1.5 years later with a Bachelors of Business Management.
I got married the following summer to my first husband who decided he wanted to become a pilot. He found schools in Florida and California he could attend. The company I was working for had an opening in the California office and they were willing to transfer me, so we moved to Northern CA. I loved it; he didn't; we ended.
I spent the next 7 years growing my skill set as an Operations Manager and working with startup to medium sized companies in Silicon Valley; mostly software developers. I worked for the first company to release a game on Sony 3DO which eventually became Playstation; kinda cool… I really loved this period in my life. I was traveling and having a ton of fun. This was during the first .com growth spurt and there was a ton of money in the Silicon Valley so things were good.
Notice my career was my world at this point.
I met my current husband, Derek; in 1993 while I was engaged to someone else. My fiancé, Ken, passed away in December of 1993 and my current husband, who was a friend of Ken's, really helped me get through that first year. Next thing you know Derek and I were a couple…
We married in October of 1995 in a park at the center of the historical area of Monterey California. To this day people still talk about our wedding. It was something…
A sit down dinner for 80 people in one of the most beautiful towns in America on the perfect California fall day; all for under $4000 (oh yeah this included the honeymoon in Lake Tahoe). It still is one of the best days of my life. I will always say, “If I didn’t have to work every weekend I would love to be a wedding planner”.
I got pregnant with our first child 9 months later. Our Daughter was born in April of 1997.
I was a MOM!
Notice how my career has now taken a back burner.
She changed my life in ways I, even today, don't completely understand. I was still working full time; luckily, for a company who allowed me to work from home for the first 3 months. My daughter was definitely the center of my universe. Her birth definitely shares the top of my best days ever list.
I kept working; but now spending 3-4 hours everyday in my car commuting was such a pain in the…
So I mentioned to my husband that I knew of a great place back east to buy a home and raise a family.
The company I worked for at the time "MySoftware Co." had done pretty well with their stock and I had stock options. So we sold everything; including the stock and moved back to Michigan. We settled in the same place I grew up, bought a home and immediately found out we were expecting our second child.
Our Son was born in February of 2000.
This is the other day that shares that top spot of best days. Life truly couldn't get much better.
I was working for a small children's board game developer who let me bring my son to work. Derek had found work with Belle Tire a local tire distributor and all was well.
Unfortunately, life tends to want to shake things up during times like this. That's when we found out my Mom had a reoccurrence of breast cancer. We fought a good fight and enjoyed every minute we had with her for the next two years but we did lose her in May 2003.
I don't think I ever fully appreciated all she meant to me till she was gone. I miss her each and every day especially knowing that my children didn't get enough time with her.
It was also during this time that the board game developer was failing so I had to find another position.
I looked and looked and finally found this unknown, never heard of little company called Netflix. They were looking to open a hub in MI and needed a manager to run it. I spent the next four years with Netflix; learned a ton of stuff, met great people, traveled to Sundance and overall really enjoyed it. And although Netflix paid really well and gave unheard of amounts of vacation and benefits the hours (60-70+ per week every week) got to be too much if I wanted to spend time with my kids.
So Derek and I decided to give me the time to try to start a business from home.
For the next year I tried to build a home business but had no clue what I was doing. I even looked into network marketing at that time but everything I looked at was a scam. After a year I had to go back into the work force. The next year was the worst year of my career. I won't waste anymore time on that other than to say it forced me to take a hard look at who and what I wanted to be in the future…
I realized I was going on 46 and I have known since I was very young that I was going to live to 92, so I was half way there. Now was the time to recreate myself and really live my life like I always wanted to…
So I began looking into opportunities to work from home again; I knew I wanted time with my kids. I found a really cool little startup and began writing Google ads for them but their venture capital fell through.
Then I tried working with a great heating and cooling guy drumming up business for him but due to some personal things that fell through.
Finally, I found a person who made me believe they would help me grow an internet business. Holly introduced me to Platinum One Destinations (my travel membership site) and through her other partners I was introduced to Sponsor Daddy.
While I was doing OK with those network marketing opportunities; I was still pretty discouraged because I wanted to do better.
Then I found TamPogo and I learned more about the founders: Chuck Stebbins of MySpace fame, Isaac McLemore of Metabolife fame, Chuck Hanson with his past successes, Jeff Conrady and so on…
Because of my previous successful and very lucrative career with startups;
(I have been able to sell stock and make money on 4 of the 6 startups I have worked for in the past),
I seem to have instincts for companies that will become successful and take me with them.
Well every nerve in my body was telling me grab hold of the TamPogo coattails and hang on tight. So I did…
That was a while ago…
NOW, I have a team that is growing daily…
I have a partner, Tracy Symowoniuk , the Dialing Diva, who inspires me every day.
I have reached profitability and I am creating real wealth and security for my family.
And most importantly I have the support of experts giving me an extremely easy to understand system, low cost of entry and management with a business vision that will allow me to become not only financially wealthy but to grow my abilities and skills.
I now have the means to create real wealth for myself, help my community by sharing the fundraising aspect with local nonprofits and change the world by helping to feed starving kids. If that isn’t a win, win, win then I don’t know what is.
Because of all these factors I have entered the next chapter of my life where I truly enjoy what I am doing and can help others do the same.
Now I spend my days taking the kids to their various activities and expanding my business career. My daughter plays basketball and shows horses. She is a member of our local 4H club and hopes to do something with horses when she heads out into the world. My son also plays basketball but also enjoys baseball and couldn't live without his Yugio Cards and tournaments. For those that don't know Yugio is a card strategy game.
I live in a fantastic neighborhood where I know and am friends with 75% of all my neighbors. We spend a lot of time with each other just having fun. Very similar to how I grew up.
My passions are spending time with family and friends; personal and professional development, improving my spirituality and having FUN doing it…
Things are really interesting, creative and fun in my life and I feel the most focused and alive that I have in a long time.
No one can hand you a magic wand that will create instant wealth in network marketing, MLM, affiliate marketing or direct sales (if someone tries to tell you they can; run the other way). I am committed to creating the path anyone can take to create success in their life too.
Finally, I was raised by a teacher and a coach; I am truly a blend of both. That is why I plan on being the teacher who opens up doors and the coach that leads. I will help to create a legacy of hope and the belief that anyone can achieve their ultimate life!
IF WE ALL HELP EACH OTHER WE WILL ALL SUCCEED.
Share with me; teach me; show me how and I will do the same for you.
